Promotions
School involvement in recycling is important to the future of our city's overall recycling effort and we offer several promotions intended to encourage that involvement. Come here often to see new promotions, but here are details on some that are current.
Student for Recycling: 2007 Bottle Round-Up Recycling Contest
Keep America Beautiful, Aquafina, and Sam’s Club are sponsoring a Bottle Round-Up recycling event. Participating schools collect as many plastic beverage bottles as possible between March 1 and May 31, 2007 and the top ten schools in Erie county will each win $100.
The top 50 schools in the country will each win a $1,000 gift card to Sam’s Club. The top 100 schools in the country will each win 100 backpacks made from recycled materials.

New York Recycles Poster Contest
Winning poster entries will be included in the 2008 New York Recycles Calendar which will be distributed throughout the state! The schools with winning posters will also receive fun educational materials and videos.

Presentations
We routinely make presentations about Buffalo's recycling program to schools, community organizations and block clubs. If you'd like to have us present to your group, please contact Andy Goldstein at 858-6996 or by email at goldsta2@erie.gov.
For schools and other groups with children, we'll arrange for Willy Wastelittle (see right) to make a special appearance.
